I’m excited to share that our new shade sails at Pencil Park has been fully installed as of 13 February, 2025. It is currently being thoroughly enjoyed by the community, providing shade on warm days and shelter from the rain – all in one day sometimes, thanks Melbourne!
I would like to give a massive thank you to to Cr Rhonda Garad for pushing this through in her term as Keysborough South Ward’s Councillor (see her update advising of the installation here in October 2024). Cr Garad helped start this process back in 2022/23 with her first bid, then again in 2023/24 before finally being funded in the 2024/25 adopted budget.
With warmer days, children and families will be able to stay cooler and enjoy our spaces more. Make sure to pen a visit in!
